Well im yet another victim of a screwed up bell housing. It started off as a hefty crack, but then when i was tryin to wrestle the damn trans out by myself (got my uninstall time down to an hour and 15 min), i forgot about the little dowel pin that helps line the trans up. Cracked transmission housing TDI 101. X2 very good advice if he does go down that route I won't even attempt to try fix a cracked bell housing. Its alloy and fractures can extend deep into the grain without seeing it to the naked eye.
